Paddlers and rowers will explore the back channel of the Ohio River between Buckley Island and Williamstown/Waverly, WV.
Those interested are invited to assist the Ohio River Islands National Wildlife Refuge staff and volunteers plant 600 hard wood saplings on the island.
Meeting at the Williamstown boat ramp at noon if you are paddleing to the island.
Volunteers not traveling by human power may be ferried by Ohio River Islands power boat from the boat launch.
Volunteers will gather 1 pm on Buckley Island just above the I-77 bridge.
Elaine Barr and Michael Schramm. are coordinating. Volunteer Mark Krivchenia hopes to give a presentation about the island’s history.
